After more than a decade of de facto one-party rule, Prime Minister Edi Rama’s Socialist Party has developed an intricate governing mechanism founded on the massive laundering of international drug money, provided with a cultural façade offered by numerous sycophants from the international architecture and art world.

The EU accession process has led to a strong entrenchment of the executive power, deteriorating the rule of law and the effectiveness of the judiciary, leaving a wide open space for massive corruption. As the opposition lies in tatters, the mechanism has matured, and its full scale is slowly coming into public view. This view is presented here.
